GIRLS’ SPORTS. * The Hawera High School girls’ sports were held this afternoon on the A. and P. Show ground. The sky was clear, out a strong wind made running difficult The programme consisted of 42 events. The total number of competitors was 67. Many of these entered for various events, and the fields generally were very good. The egg and spoon race required four heats and the blindfolded race three heats. Results were as follow: Three-legged race (open).—First heat: J. Wytkin and Q. Beale 1, P. Toy and B. Petersen 2, C. Quinn and M. Harley 8. Time, 15 3-ssec. Second heat: E. Wards and R. Milne 1, E.
