SWIMMING.
TAKA NA K 1 @*E.\ TK E. ANNUAL MEETING. A very success, ul season for 1925 was recorded at the annu'al meeiing of the Taranaki Swimming Centre last nignt, over which Mr. W H. Mo_.es presided. in ins remarks on the report, the president recalled the complimentary reference made by the New Zealand council to the work in Taranaki. He referred lo the splendid work done in many schools, for which certificates had been awarded, aucl he hoped more schools would come in this year.
The New Zealand council advised the list of compulsory dives for the next Dominion championships. Advice was received that the Maranui Life Saving Club would be defending the Nelson Shield at New Plymouth in February, and that, if guarantees were provided, they proposed to go on tour afterwards. In the itinerary proposed for night carnivals, a. date would he provided for Hawera on the Friday liefore the competitions, and later visits would he made to Wanganui and Palmerston North. The guarantee asked from Hawera wins £ls.
It was advised that the visit of lady swimmers from Australia would probably be altered from November to February or March. Information was received that the New Zealand championships would be held in Auckland on January 22, 24, 26, and 28
