In the House of Commons, the R-t. Hon. Sir W. Mitcbell-Thompson, replying to a question, said the time taken in the conveyance of mails, except during the war period, had not varied much. Mails now reached Auckland, via North America, in 31 days, against 35 in 1900. He admitted that a faster scheme was under consideration.
