At the Wellington Manufacturers’ Association executive meeting to-day, the delegates to the conference at Christchurch reported upon the work done, including the tariff question. Mr B. Seed said he thought the Tariff Boa ixl should begin to take evidence early in the new year, or Parliament would be sitting. iTheir case would be ready, so that the matter could be gone into properly. He moved that the Government be asked to get the Tariff Board into operation for taking evidence as eai'lv as possible in the new year. The motion was carried unanimously.
