PERSONAL ITEMS.

Messrs R. H. Nimmo and R. Kennedy, of Wellington, are at present in Hawera and are staying at the Central Hotel. Mr. M. C Crighton, secretary of the Egmont A. and P. Association, left Hawera. yesterday afternoon for the purpose of visiting the Wanganui spring show. Mr Crighton is expected to return on Friday. Mr. R. A. Scott, accountant, of Auckland, was in Hawera for several days on business, and stayed at the Egmont Hotel. He left this morning on his return to Auckland. Mr W. Surrell, representing First National Pictures, Ltd. (Australasia), stayed at the Egmont Hotel last evening and proceeded to Wellington this morning. For health reasons, Mr. J. N. Anderson, proprietor- of the White Hart Hotel, will early next month leave Hiawera for an extended tour. Mr. Anderson expects to- be away for ai year, and ha-s leased his 'hotel to Mr. R.. D. Wilson for that period. Many friends and associates assembled at the. railway station this morn I ]ng to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Douglas, who, together with their family, left by the mail train for Palmerston North. During the term th»*- Mr Douglas has been manager of Hawera branch of the Bank of New South Wales, both he and Mrs. Douglas have become extremely popular, and the extent of this popularity was evidenced by the warmth of the farewell to them. Mr. Douglas’s successor, Mr. Corfe, has now taken over his new duties.
