A ROYAL REBEL
A NOTHEB eroAvn prince considers a royal crown of no value as compared to the crown of loa'c. It has recently been announced in America that the Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark is seriously contemplating the abdication of all his rights to the throne, so that he may marry a commoner, a beautiful girl, AA r hoso name is being temporarily Avithhekl. This rumour is being discussed by the Scandinavian press of the United States, notably by the Swedish-Ameriean Tribune of Chicago. The. CroAvn Prince is 27 years old, and like the Prince of Wales, has been unable to make up his mind to marry one of the feAV remaining princesses whose blue blood makes them eligible to mate with a future king.
PRFERS CROWN OF LOVE
In'case of the Crown Prince's abdication the next heir to Denmark’s ancient throne would be the second son of the King, Prince Knud. But Prince Knud has his doubts about royal state anyway. The profession is decidedly going out. of style. The young prince has affirmed that should his elder brother Frederick abdicate, they better not count on him to step into the Crown Prince’s! shoes.
The King of Denmark having only these two sons, the succession to the throne would then natufally descend to a nephew, the pqpular Prince Now the prince is affectionately called “Captain Axel” throughout the north ern countries. After spending several years in the Royal Danish navy, he affiliated himself three years ago with the East Asiatic Steamship Company of Copenhagen, where he is now a director. Before that he sailed as master of the Danish motor boat “Asia” several times around the world.

Cousin of King George of England, and son of Prince Waldemar of Denmark, “Captain Axel” is also older brother to Prince Erik of Denmark, who recently married the Canadian heiress, Mis Louise Booth, of Ottawa. Miss Booth was the daughter of a different kind of royalty, her father being the lumber king of the Dominion of Canada. After sailing ships through the treacherous oceans Captain Axel, prince, merchant and sailor, and aviator, is well equipped to direct the ship of state.
