ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
BODY FOUND IN HARBOUR. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND,- Nov. 4., The body of a man,. which has not yet been identified, was found on the foreshore of the harbour, this morning. In the pockets of his suit were a ticket for the steamer Matangi dated November 3 and made out in the name of F. Roberts, two railway check tickets, and four £5 notes. The body had evidently not been in the water longer than 48 hours.
INJURED BY EXPLOSION. WHANGAREI,. Nov. 4. A Sherman and A. Taylor, while engaged on road making at Awarua Gorge in the Upper Mangaka hia, f we re injured by the premature explosion of a dynamite charge this morning and were brought to the Whangarei Hospital late this afternoon. Sherman’s eyes were injured but the sight was not affected. The other was hurt about the arms and chest. KILLED BY TRAIN. AUCKLAND, Novi 5. Mrs. R„ Tucker (27), the wife of a poultry farmer at Takihini, was found dead at a level railway crossing about seven o’clock this morning, presumably struck by a train. A strong windprevailed' and it is thought she did not hear the approach of the train. She was the daughter of Mi’, and Mrs. T. F. Atkinson, of Takinini.
