Affirm galloped nine furlongs in 1.58 at Caulfield. TRACK WORK AT RICCARTON. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 2. The weather was fine for track work at Riccarton. The outside of the course proper provided good going. Precious was the first to work, doing five furlongs in 1.2 3-5. Nincompoop led Lucinda and Haze over half a mile up the back in 52 1-5 sec. Front Rank, with a mate over the last six furlongs, did nine furlongs in 1.59. Broadmoor beat Scrambler over half a mile up the back in 52sec. Shirley took 50seo to cover the last four of five furlongs. Moorland sprinted half a mile in 49sec. Reremoana, with a big weight, beat Lady Desmond over six .furlongs in 1.17. Centrepiece, with a mate over the last part. did seven furlongs in 1.29 2-5. Olarinda beat Ranine, with Beacon Light and Desert Clow two lengths away and Kalakaua beaten off. in a mile and a quarter in 2.11, the Jast mile taking 1.43,2-5. Beacon Light carried most weight. Jarretierre beat Tarleton over a mile in 1.44 3-5. Phaola beat David Garrick, Footfall and Lucky Days over a mile in 1.44 2-5. Glentruin and Set Sail were together at the end of six furlongs, the last five furlongs of which took 1.2 2-5. The two-year-olds Jericho, Glad Light and Rigoletto were in that order at the end of half a mile in 50 l-ssec. Star Light iust beat Bolero in half a mile in 49 2-ssec. Licinius and Young Lochinvar beat Mimetic in six fnrlongs in 1.16 2-5. Full Swing did a mile and a quarter in 2.11 2-5. the last mile taking 1.44 2-5. Count Cavour, in company with Countersign over the first six and Yiolet 11. over the last seven furlongs, ran a mile and a quarter in 2.11 2-5, the last mile taking 1.44 2-5. :■ Sayonara. went better than Black Cruiser over four hurdles. Rangi Sarto jumped six hurdles alone, but seemed sore. Booster was going easily alongside Brown Lady over half a mile in 51sec. Goosestep ran six fnrlongs in 1,20 3-5. Assmann and Peho did seven furlongs in 1.30. Margaret Birney ran six furlongs in 1.15 1-5. Fiuora took 1.15 3-5, with a mate over the last five. Mireusonta and Piuthair did easy work on the sand. The outside of the course proper was available for fast work. Judge’s Box and a Kenilworth filly ran four furlongs in 52. Quincoma was just ahead of. lanoe, with White Bird last at the end of five iurlongs in 1.5. ' Gold Fern and Charman were about on terms at the end of six furlongs, run in 1.22. Serang was not bustled when running five furlongs in 1.9 2-5. Tresham and Muscari went a round in 2.9, being together at the finish. Gala Day and War Officer went six furlongs in 1.21 4-5. Charlady beat Newburyi over six fur’ongs in i. 22. Tall Timber, Merry Damon and King uYlerv were on terms at the end of a similar distance, run in 1.21 2-5. Aurumavis, Barometer, and Rahepoto were in that order, at the end of a round, done in 2.7 2-5. Master Doon covered the last four furlongs of his work in 51 2-5. Abbey Day and Chari s went half a mile in 55. Archibald was in front of Pavo over six, which took 1.20. Nucleus and Claris finished together over seven furlongs in 1.34. „ Tukia did four furlongs in 51 2-5. Nassock and Master .Mind were in front of Wonder Star, Salamander, Temple and King Selwyn at the end of five furlongs from the new post in 1.6 3-5. Quandong and Corinax ran the last four furlongs of their work in 57. Ruanui, one of F. Tilley’s team, sprinted four furlongs in 53 4-5. Mandane did a round in 2.3, the last four furlongs taking 54sec, a good gallop- . , After breakfast Archeno sprinted down the straight. Balama and Waitakohe did half a mile in 51 3-sse?. Karamu and a companion covered five furlongs in 1.10 2-5. Chnmour was going nicely at the end of six furlongs in 1.21 2-5. "Town Guard and Prince Abbey took 1.23 1-5. Auriculus and Zane Grey went half a mile in 51 2-5.

Clockwork, Horn a i and Waiaii covered the last six furlongs of their work in 1.26. • Dave sprinted, hut was not timed. Domint ran six furlongs on the tan in 1.20 4-5. Star Ranger did pace work on the same track. Town Bank, which bruised one of his feet recently, was also given steady work on the tan, Tom Moore jumped the fences on the flat safelv hut slowly.

Indemnity set out over the same obstacles. hut ran off at the second fence of the double. Tie went on and jumped the stone wall.

Peter Amans went over the steeplechase fences on the flat twice. With the exception of a tendency to get too close to some of the fences, the display was good. Sea Comet, Djmlight, Mali galore, Kendal, and Syndicate started off over the sod wall double and the stone wall, Kendal was then pulled off. but the other four continued over the hill and on to the flat where Sea Comet and Dimlight were taken on to the course proper. Mahgalore and Syndicate finished over the fences on the flat, the former being well in front. Glenoata was given a schooling task

over the big fences, including the hill and jumped well. The arrivals include Star Ranger, Merry Jest, Royal Mint, Mint Deaf, Te Monanui, Lysander, and Maek. REHANDICAPS. AUCKLAND, Nov. 2.
