Front Rank, with a mate over the last six furlongs, did nine furlongs in 1.59. Broadmoor beat Scrambler over half a mile up the back in 52sec. Shirley took 50seo to cover the last four of five furlongs. Moorland sprinted half a mile in 49sec. Reremoana, with a big weight, beat Lady Desmond over six .furlongs in 1.17. Centrepiece, with a mate over the last part. did seven furlongs in 1.29 2-5. Olarinda beat Ranine, with Beacon Light and Desert Clow two lengths away and Kalakaua beaten off. in a mile and a quarter in 2.11, the Jast mile taking 1.43,2-5. Beacon Light carried most weight. Jarretierre beat Tarleton over a mile in 1.44 3-5. Phaola beat David Garrick, Footfall and Lucky Days over a mile in 1.44 2-5. Clockwork, Horn a i and Waiaii covered the last six furlongs of their work in 1.26. • Dave sprinted, hut was not timed. Domint ran six furlongs on the tan in 1.20 4-5. Star Ranger did pace work on the same track. Town Bank, which bruised one of his feet recently, was also given steady work on the tan, Tom Moore jumped the fences on the flat safelv hut slowly.

Indemnity set out over the same obstacles. hut ran off at the second fence of the double. Tie went on and jumped the stone wall.

Peter Amans went over the steeplechase fences on the flat twice. With the exception of a tendency to get too close to some of the fences, the display was good. Sea Comet, Djmlight, Mali galore, Kendal, and Syndicate started off over the sod wall double and the stone wall, Kendal was then pulled off. but the other four continued over the hill and on to the flat where Sea Comet and Dimlight were taken on to the course proper. Mahgalore and Syndicate finished over the fences on the flat, the former being well in front. Glenoata was given a schooling task
