■jyrrtr ■aw - $ & . J We are living in an age of applied science. In the manufacture of goods we see the aid of science being used more and more. In no less degree are scientific methods being used to develop Pastoral and Agricultural returns. In the laboratory and in the field painstaking work is continually going forward to increase primary production and farm profits, and to-day definite lines of procedure can be followed with certainty of good results. Of these, the most important is the increasing use of Superphosphate to supplement a phosphatic soil content naturally deficient m New Zealand soils —and to replace the phosphates absorbed from the soil by successive cropping and grazing. As the Wanganui Fertiliser Works represent the latest and most modern source for Superphosphate and other fertilisers of the highest grade, their erection and operation by Kempthorne, Prosser & Co. Ltd., the Pioneers of the Superphosphate Industry in New Zealand, cannot but be viewed with satisfaction by everybody interested in Pastoral and Agricultural pursuits. It is characteristic of the Company that the Wanganui Fertiliser Works have been established at a point where they are most wanted to assure a continuity of supply in high-grade fertilisers, and where they will provide extra facilities in delivery that will be most advantageous to farming interests. In addition to the very outstanding advantages they provide in matters of dependable quality and delivery facilities, the Wanganui Fertiliser Works will also give those services to farmers which are a feature with the other Works of the Company at Burnside, Dunedin; Westfield, Auckland ; and Hornby, Christchurch —among which may be mentioned the free testing of soils to , show manurial requirements, and the collection of dependable data from both official and private Fertilising tests that contribute so largely toward securing those maximum returns which make all the difference to a farmer’s bank book at the end of the year. * The Wanganui Fertiliser Works are now in operation, and correspondence, orders, and samples of soil for testing should be forwarded to The Manager, Kempthorne, Prosser & Co.’s New Zealand Drug Co. Ltd., 14 Wicksteed Place, Wanganui. “Westfield" Superphosphate and other Manures are also procurable through all Stock and Station Agents and Produce Merchants. m o Kemptiiorne Prosser & Co's.
