BOXING.
CONTEST AT 'TAUMARUNUI. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) TAUMARUNUI, Oct, 11. There was a boxing contest here on Saturday night for the Treseon shield. It resulted in Taumarumu wresting the shield from Wellington. Some keen contests were witnessed, and there was a good attendance of the public. At the conclusion of the contests, Mr E. Dawson, of the New Zealand Boxing Council, presented the shield to Mr T. S. Hall, secretary of the local association. In doing so he expressed the hope that it would stimulate boxing in Ta.umarunui. Mr Guise, of Wellington, refereed, and gave every satisfaction.
