MARKET KEPOET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. Hawera branch, report:— At Eltham on the 6th hist we held our fortnightly sale, when a small yarding of cattle was offered to a good attendance of buyers. We quote: — Light fat cows. £6 12s 6d to £7 10s; bulls to 6gns; dairy heifers, £7 .15s to £9 ss; dairy cows (g.s.), £7 to £9; inferior sorts. £4 10s to £6; weaner pigs.

17s to 22s 6d. At Hawera on the 7th inst. our fortnightly sale was held, when we offered a good yarding of store cattle and a very heavy yarding of springing heifers. Bidding was keen throughout all sections, and a good sale resulted, particularly in the dairy sections, considering the quality offered. We quote: Fat ewes to 26s 3d; forward cows, £4 5s to £5 ss; store cows, £3 to £4; aged cows, £1 to £1 15s; bulls, £8 8s to £l2 12s; dairy heifers. £lO 10s to £l2; medium quality, £7 to £9; inferior and backward, £4 10s to £6; weaner pigs to 17s (id; large stores. £2 to £3; medium stores, 32s to 38s. At Palmer Load on the Bth inst. we held our bull fair. The entry consisted mainly of low-conditioned bulls and were dull of sale. The few choice bulls were sold at very satisfactory figures. We quote: 2 and 3-year bulls, choice. 12 to 19gns; medium bulls. 9 to lllgiis. At Waverloy on the Bth inst. our usual conjunction sale was held, when we offered an exceptionally heavy yarding of forward and light cattle and sheep. Everything was cleared under the hammer at vendors’ reserves. We quote: .Light fat cows, £8 12s (id to £9 16s; very forward cows. £5 5s to £6 10s; fat hoggets, 27s 6d; fat ewes, light, to 25s fid; weaner pigs to 225.
