The attendance was only 7500, due to the heavy rain and a gale of wind, which also' hampered the New Zealanders’ play. The New Zealanders were never impressive ibecau.se Warrington forwards consistently controlled the scrulns. They were also exceptionally clever in loose play, consequently tire New Zealand hacks luad few opportunities. Warrington gave their best display of the season, the front rankers being in their element and the backs full of enterprise, quite bewildering the opposition with «xrieutilic movements'.
The New Zealanders unfortunately lost Davidson in the first few minutes owing to injuries, and he was a passenger for the resit of the game. New Zealand had the advantage of the wind in ithe fir,sit half of the game, but made poor use of this opportunity, whereas Warrington made the most of every chance that came their way. Mynn opened the scoring for Warrington in two minutes. Soon after Brown made a perfect opening for Mason, whose try Gardiner fomented. After that Warirngtoir carried all before them. After iQatterall placed a penalty goal, Flynn and Tranter crossed for Warrington. Warrington, in the second half, with the assistance of the wind always had the game in safe keeping. Parry and Green crossed after brilliant back play. The Now Zealand team comprised: Gregory, Brmvn, Brisbane, 'Cole, fla.rd.iner, Davidson. Webb. Avery, Menzies. Mason, Wright, Herring and Carroll.
