The Association of British Chambers of Commerce has prepared a. report defining its attitude towards various subjects likelv to crop up at the Imperial Conference. It urges firstly that there should be larger public funds to assist Imperial migration and developmental works which would not compete with private enterprise, for example, railways, harbours and irrigation works, provided that if British assistance were given, it would be for orders placed in. Britain. Secondly, the appointment of an authoritative standing committee in London to deal with Einpi-re tariffs and kindred questions. Thirdlv. Imperial penny postage. Fourthly, development of air rommunientions.
