The social function held by the Women’s National Reserve to-day in the Hawera Soldiers’ Club for the purpose of liquidating a small deficit incurred by the social committee of the association, met with a ready response, over 200 ladies being present. An enjoyable afternoon wasi spent, a. musical and elocutionary programme being given by juvenile performers. Competitions were also arranged, and a dainty afternoon tea was served.
