FATAL CASES NUMBERED 180. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 11.20 A.in. to-day. MELBOURNE, Oct. 6. According to- a return tabled in the Assembly, the number of accidents in which motor vehicles were involved in 1925 was 3491, of which 3179 occurred in the metropolitan area. The princip’ie. causes were : —Motorists’ negligence 1754, pedestrians’ negligence 510; motorists on wrong side of the road 238; drunken motorists, 71; drunken pedestrians. 52. Altogether 2197 persons were injured, which in 180 «*ses were fatal.
