FROZEN MEAT

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under- date October 1 : Lamb, 9Jd per lb. Mutton: Wether and maiden ewe, light, 6RI per lb; heavy do. s|d; ewe, light, 41 d; ewe, heavy 4d. Better market.

N.Z. GUARANTEE CORPORATION

The third annual report of the N.Z. Guarantee Corporation, Ltd., states that the results have again been satisfactory. The called-up capital of the corporation now totals £214,390, the amount paid up on the ordinary shares being now Bs. The net profit on the year’s business, after writing off £4602 10s Id' from preliminary and establishment expenses, is £24,629 2s 6d. Interim dividends' at the rate of 7 per cent per annum on preference shares, lOd per share, on the futly-paidl ordinary shares, and 4d per share on the remainder, amounting to £8799 11s 8d for the six months ended February 28, 1926, were declared and paid. The balance of profits carried forward from last year amounts to £3489 18s Gd, and the amount now available for appropriation is £19,319 9s 4d. The directors now recommend the payment of the dividend at the rate of 7 per cent per annum on preference shares, and also the payment of a further dividend of Is 3d per share oil the fullv-paid ordinary shares, making a total of 2s Id for the year, and 6d per share on the balance of the ordinary shares allotted, making a total of lOd per si la re for the year. These dividends will absorb the sum of £12,849 7s 6d. The directors further recommend that the sum of £SOOO be transferred to reserve and the balance carried 1 forward.
