DEFINITION OF PNEUMATIC
(BY TELEGRAPH PHEBB ASSOCIATION.) ROTORUA, Oct. 4. In a case Police v, F. Good son, on two charges under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1924. for registering, tyres as pneumatic which the authorities contended wer© solid and requiring a higher registration fee, reserved judgment was given by Mr W. G. Kenrick, S.M. The tyres in question were G bod rich, ,semipneumatic. containing a quantity of imprisoned air.. The magistrate ruled, in the absence of a definition of the word “pneumatic in the Act, that th© ordinary definition of the word ‘pneumatic” must be accepted, and dismissed the information. TONG-AN NOBLE IN DISGRACE. AUCKLAND, Oct. 5. The Auckland Star’s Nukualofa correspondent writes: ‘ ‘After being held in gaol for three months, the Tongan noble Vee Lada, who was proved to have stolen many articles while a passenger on the steamer Tofua, has been sentenced to remain the guest of her Majesty for two years. The sentence carries with it loss of noble rank and all estates that go with such.”
