MANAWATU GORGE.
ROAD BLOCKED
(BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PALMERSTON N., Oct. 5. Caused by heavy rain over the weekend, several slips came down in the Manawatu Gorge yesterday, completely blocking the road, while another fell this morning, carrying away several yards of railway and posts. It is not 'expected that the road will be' clear to-day.
