EX-CROWN PRINCE.
SERVES IN ARMY MANOEUVRES
MONARCHIST COUP SUGGESTED,
BY CABLE--PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Oct. 4. The Daily Telegraph's Berlin correspondent says there is a good deal of indirect evidence that the German army is being prepared for a monarchist coup d’etat. It was recently announced that Prince Wilhelm, the ex-Crown Prince’s eldest son, had taken part in manoeuvres with the first company of the Ninth Potsdam Regiment at Mergentheim.
Denials have been issued, saying the Prince was only a spectator, but witnesses assert that the Prince certainly did duty with an infantry regiment at Munsingon, sometimes appearing in the uniform of the Kaiser’s army, and sometimes in that of the Reichswchr. The Prince also shared in an expedition to Hohenzollern Castle, the original home of the family, and there received the homage of the soldiers. The First Company of the Ninth Regiment have taken over the traditions of the First Foot guards, with whom all the Hohenzollerns used to be trained.
