(From O'ur Olwn Correspondent.) VISITORS TO THE FACTORY.

A party consisting of directors and the manager of a dairy factory in the Bay of Plenty, accompanied by Messrs. H. Jansen and T. Puller, the Hawera and New Plymouth, .representatives of the .National Dairy Association, visited the Kapongn. dairy factory yesterday. The object of their visit was to obtain the latest ideas in’dairy factory construction and equipment, with a. view to , incorporating them in a contemplated new and up-to-date factory in their own district. Tire party was conducted over the premises by Mr. W. Hislop, the Kaponga, Company’s general manager, and evinced keen interest in that portion of the plant de-< voted to the production of “Zeala' ’ cheese. The'visitors took special note of Mr. \V. Dane’s recommendation that provision .should be made in the proposed new factory for the installation of the necessary plant for manufacture of the new product. PERSONAI/. ■Mr. J. F. Ryan returned from Wellington iby last night’s mail train. (Mr. H. Cl Stunners has in hand the construction of ornamental walls and gate posts at the entrance to the local bowling gfieen and croquet lawns. The material used is concrete and boulders and when completed will be a pleasing and substantial addition to the improvements already effected. The Town Clerk (Mr G. P. Cook) has been confined to. his home for the past two or three days through indispositi'o n. A .number of Kaponga .residents have this week indulged in crayfishing at Opunake, with varying success.
