PETONE MURDER CHARGE.

FURTHER REMAND GRANTED

MOTHER IN MENTAL HOSPITAL

(BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. When the case in which Mrs Perrin was charged with the murder of her children at Petone on September 11 came before the Court- to-day, Mr W. E. Leicester appealed on behalf of the husband against remands from week to week. The woman was detained in a mental hospital, and> might probably never come out. The remands did not affect her, but her husband was an elderly man and was gradually breaking down under the strain. Mr Page, S.M., said it. was- a case where, the police might consider withdrawing proceedings in the meantime, and he adjourned the ease another week in order that the chief detective might consult his superior officers.
