Some 33,000 rabbits have been disposed of in the- Howard district during the past two years (my« the Nelson Mail). Strychnine poisoning has proved most effective. The rabbits are fed on raw carrots for two days. For instance, the rabbiter might go along a ridge throwing out carrots. The journey is repeated next day. On the third day pieces of carrot with a little of the paste on are thrown out-. These the rabbits rush, and are -soon, paralysed. The death from this method is a, quick and painless one. *
