NEW ZEALAND FORWARDS' 8 CRTTIGISBD. 8Y CABLE —PHESB ASSOCIATION—COPYMGHI LONDON, Sept. 20. The Athletic News says: "“The New Zealand forwards were shirking -^ their task in the pack at Kali fax. They weighed 86 stone and should have been able easily to push the strongest English pack. The New Zealanders, however overlooked the first requirement of a great pack, namely, to use its weight legitimately, pack low in solid formation, and push for possession. Instead three or four prefer-to'seek success by the doubtful method of playing loose. Avery, the New Zealand captain, frankly admits that their scrummaging methods,. which are successful in - New Zealand, are a failure here. They only won IS scrummages at Halifax out of 74.
