YESTERDAY’S MEETING. . The monthly meeting of the Hawera Hospital Board was continued yesterday afternoon, when the business transacted included that referred to below. Board ’had made payments to several other hospital boards! for treatment of contributors, and several others' had agreed Vto make the Rawer a Board' a concession (averaging 33 per cent.) on 'account of .such payments. .Was the board in order in. entering into ararngeniemts with other boards for the payment of the. above fees; and is the agreement by. other boards to accept a. lesser amount than their ordinary fees front the Hawera; Board in order? The .reply of the Health Department was to -the effect that as far as could be seen nor question could, arise as to the arrangement .made, with _ other boards .on the lines set forth ill the preceding paragraph. The (Department. had nob obtained a Crown Lhw opinion on the matter, which was one for the board’s own solicitors. The officer-ill-charge of. the local bodies atudit concurred in this mew.
