FRAUD ALLEGED

A man stated by Ohief Detective Ward to be well known .in Wellington was charged to-dray before Air. Riddell. S.M., with having obtained from Andrews and. Roberts, with intent to defraud. the sum of £256 5s by falsely representing that he was supplying paint to the Wanganui Education Board and that a. cheque -for £262 12s. signed by R„ Fa,lilick, was genuine. He was' remanded to Friday, -bail being allowed in one snmi of £l5O. The magistrate agreed to -suppress the name meanwhile, the charge- being an indicable one.
