DOMINION ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL MEETING OF COUNCIL

(BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND. Sept. 15. The annual meeting of the council of the Dominion Bowling Association. Mr J. W. Hardley presiding, appointed Mr A. R. Coltman secretary and Mr J. Moves, of Taranaki, to a vacancy on the council. The annual report stated that there arc 288 clubs registered, with -a membership of 15,149. The year closed with a credit of £l2O. The assets are £557 12s.

The headquarters of the associationwill! be in Auckland this- season. Mr Meadowcroft (Wellington) spoke strongly against overseas bowlers taking part in Dominion tournaments, as extending play unduly and interfering with interorcviucial games. The Auckland members of the council were elected! an executive committee for the incoming year. A remit- from South Centerbury that all stamps for howl testing prior to 1924 be declared illegal was withdrawn in favour of one from Christchurch that all howls hearing association! stamp prior to 1925 must he retested 1 . This evoked considerable discussion. during which the point was emphasised that uniformity should he at. The remit was finally ndbptcd hv a unanimous vote, with the stipulation that the- remit should become operative from April 30, 1927. This concluded theq morning session.
