TARANAKI v. WAIKATO.

TO-MORROW’S MATCH

(By Telegraph.—Special to The Star ) - HAMILTON, Sept. .14. The Taranaki touring team left- Auckland on Monday, being given an enthusiastic send-off at tlie station by members of the Auckland team and officials of the Rugby Union. They were welcomed at Franklin by officials of the Waikato Union. To-day they were taken for a tour round the environs of Hamilton. To-morrow’s match is creating; great interest here. The Waikato team has not been beaten ko far this season, but, looks upon tlie match with Taranaki as the Teal test of the season. The match is being billed here as the butter-fat championship, and it will be interesting to see which district gives the best team. Tlie teams are :

Taranaki. —Coutts, W. Hohaia, Bourke (centre), Brown, Johnston, Owen. Jeffries, Wills, Williams, .Walter, Paterson, Graham, Robinson, and Young. Emergencies: Petty, Hohaia, Stevens and Lusk.

Waikato. —Quinn, Campbell, Kemp Buckingham, Anderson, Dare, Mitchell How aid: (rover), Courtenay, Thomas Montgomery, Carter (lock and captain), Bourke. Anderson, and Chapman. Mr. B. Chapman will lie referee.
