The House resumed at noon, when it. was announced that Royal Assent had been given to the Appropriation Bill. The session ended at 1.5 p.m. after the usual complimentary references on the work of the session had been passed. v_,-At this morning's meeting of the rfiawera. Countv Council .specimens of '■pamphlets ‘i'Fire ’Precautions for Householders” were received from the "Department of Internal Affairs., A covering letter stated that these were obtainable for distribution, to house holders at 37s 6d per 1000. “No.” said the chairman (Cr .T. B. Murdoch)., "we don’t want them.”
