BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COP MIGHT. Received 12.55 p.m. to-day. PEKIKN, Sept. 10. Two American, destroyers were subjected to machine gun and ride fire on arrival at Ilankow, wounding two men. Every foreign vessel entering or leaving ilankow is a target for, southern bullets. Several were riddled and a number of 'passengers were killed or wounded. Wuchang, the walled city*, is again the object of attention from, the southerners. As the result of resistance by isolated northerners, an ultimatum was issued to the effect that a bombardment would take place failing surrender within twenty-four hours. Foreign missio'naries and merchants within the area are endangered. Numerous executions have' taken place of smugglers <Vr bombs into Wuchang, disguised as Red 1 Cross men. Cantonese have not. entered the. Hankow foreign concession, but 30,000 aTe in the native city. The northern allies. under General Wu Pei Fu and Sun Ohu Fang are (jjpsinig in. for an. attack on Hankow fVm the west and north fronts.
