TOKAORA.

POPULAR SETTLERS ENTERTAINED. To honour a strong supporter of the Tokaora Football duib (Mr Vin. Mills), and to welcome him and l his bride back to their home, a very enjoyable social was organised by the Rugby Committee at which they were the guests of honour. There was a very large attendance, and dancing and. 1 euchre filled the evening. The winners in the euchre tourney were Alisa Freyne and Mr T. Lavery. For the dancing excellent music was supplied by Airs E. Bennett, and the At’s.C. were Messrs J. Freyne and 1 T. Connery. After supper a presentation! was made to the guests of the evening on behalf of the club. Air S. Thrush, president, said it was right that they should honour Air and Airs Alills. Air Mills had been a member of the club, and had! given it a playing aTea free of rent, and) in addition had allowed his ma.n to get off to play with the team. The club was growing, and was greatly indebted 1 to men like Air Mills for its progress. He then presented Mr Alills with a handsome dock on behalf of the club. A bouquet was also presented l to Airs Mills; The presentation! was accompaniedl by musical honours. Ini reply, Air Mills expressed his pleasure" at being able to do something for the Club, and hoped' to be able still to give his support. He thanked them for the magnificent gift, which Airs Alills and he would 1 keep ainongst their most treasured possessions.
