TO KEEP VIOLETS

People who love violets —and most people, do —regret that the lovely little flowers do not last long in water. If treated in this way they will not fade so quickly, indeed,’l have, known them to last four or even five days. Pick in the early morning; tie the stems together; cut off about half an inch from the ends; put into a. vase of fresh water and sprinkle the flowers with water. Change the water and sprinkle every day. Cutting off the ends of the stems and leaving the flowers tied are most important rules.
