Tlie prospects for the Royal •Show, wildeli this year will be lielcl in Auckland, are of the brightest, and advices are to the effect that the whole of the business community is behind the municipal authorities in the enthusiasm shown over the preparations for the show. The City Council intends to givespecial tramway inducements and to have a scheme of decorations for the
trams, so as to help to give; the eitV its brightest, and prettiest aspect. The business people will, during show week specially dross their windows, showing the goods of the Dominion, primary and secondary and; also the Empire. All kinds of other attractions will be added to increase the. effect, on visitors The secretary of the Show Association, Mr. A. D. Stanley, was in Ha.wera yesterday and in. a conversation with a. Star representative, said that the show promised! to. be a record, and, that it was mooting with the heartiest of support from the leading’ farming districts of the Dominion. lie. lias been in several, down the Waikato, Palmerston. North and Wanganui, ancl has met a most encouraging reception and secured strong support from all the leading breeders in those, districts. ‘ ‘ Auckland should ha ve, ’ ’ lie added, “ a display of cattle and livestock generally equal to anything seen in the Dominion. The prospects are very bright indeed. ” Mr. Stanley is on a round of visits of Taranaki, which will include, besides ITawera, Stratford and New Plymouth, and he is lookng for the same measure and support as he lias secured elsewhere.
