BY CABLE —FB.EBB A.BBOCI A.TION—COI'Y HIGH'I Received 10.10 2a.m. to-day. DARWIN, Sept, 1. Mr Mitchell, chief protector of aborigines in West- Australia, has arrived 1 at Darwin in possession of -a. collection of teeth and bones alleged' to be*the remains of blacks who were shot down and their bodies burned by a party of white men. It appears that search was. being conducted in the Wyndham district for a native who was suspected of murder. Two police constables swore du .four white men as special constables to assist in the capture. It would aeem that the party came upon a. group of natives and killed a large number. Whether the natives resisted or were aggressive is not At present known. The .remains of twelve natives were found, but 27 were missing, and it is presumed that this number were killed. _ The two constables concerned have been suspended . , ■
