LEAGUE OF NATIONS
THE COMING SESSION.
GERMANY'S APPLICATION FOR. ADMISSION.
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION^—CO .’YU BHT. BERLIN, Aug. 28. It was disclosed at yesterday’s meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee, that, members of the German National Party voted in favour of the Communist motion demanding the withdrawal of Germany’s application to enter the League. The National Party to-day refused to permit its> member, Herr Iloetzsch. to join the German delegation to Genova, although the Government asked him to do so. 1 This refusal is based on the uncertainty of the present political situation, particularly in: view of the disarmament problems, and the equivocal position which the party representatives would hold at Geneva regarding their freedom of action and influence. LONDON, Aug. 29. Viscount Cecil departed for Geneva yesterday. It is now confidently believed that no obstacle will arise to prevent Germany taking a seat as a permanent member of the league.
