STATEMENT FOR, JULY, 1926

The following particulars of the loan transactions of the Public Trust Office and new business reported during the month ended 31st July, 1926, have been supplied by the Right Hon. the Prime Minister. The amount paid out in. settlement of new loans was £180,149, making ia total of £860,737 since the beginning of April last. Further new loans were granted to the amount of £135,514, and the sum of loans granted but not yet paid i>-> £796,137. In addition, loans have been offered of amounts less than the full loams applied for, and these total £183,075, making the grand total of loans granted. £979,212. There are other applications on hand for loans amounting of £540,645. The month was a very busy one for new business, ia,nd the value of estates accepted lor administration was £521,687. There was also an exceptionally large number of wills deposited by living testators —590—and the number now held is 50,601.
