NORMANBY.

METHODIST CHURCH ANNIVERSARY. The Normanby Methodist Church Anniversary entertainment was held in the Town Hall on Friday evening, when the Rev, Oxbrow presided, A •select programme was rendered by the Hawera. Methodist- Choir and assisting artists to a very appreciative audience. The programme included several of the winning items at. --this week’s Male Choir competitions. The following; was the programme: Anthem, choir; song, Miss Mills; violin' solo, Miss King; competition anthem, Choir; recitation. Mr. Thomas; flute solo, Mr. Ale-Lean; part song, Choir; recitation, Miss Cane; -song, Mr Pacey; anthem,. Choir; recitation, Miss M. Dixon; song, Mr Piper; male quartette, Messrs Taylor, Campbell, Penfold and Harrell; violin and flute duet, Miss King and' Mr. McLean; part- song, Choir. The trust secretary, Air. R. Clement, reported on:, the, year’s work. In referring to the financial position, the secretary stated that the trust was fortunate in having a -margin, which, he likened to a knife’s- edge. A hearty Vote of thanks aiid appreciation to the performers for their splendid programme, was proposed and seconded by Alessrs Clement and Cane and heartily acclaimed. Air., Fox suitably responded on behalf of the performers and promised another such programme. A v-ery enjoyable evening closed with the singing of the National Anthem, a.nd a hearty vote of thanks to the ladies for the bountiful supper supplied.
