HUPMOBILE SUCCESSES

The Farmers’s Co-op. Organisation Society, Ltd., local distributors for Mupmobile cars, have received advice that a Standard Hupmobile Six-cylin-der Touring ear won the first prize iu a touring race held on June 14 in Roumania, inaugurated by the Royal Roumanian Automobile Club. The performance is especially meritorious, in view of the fact that the ear was a standard equipped l series A model, just received from the factory and it was not known that this car was intended to be used for such a purpose. Prom Bucarest come •details of further signal successes. A Hupmobile Six, driven by Mr. N: N. Butculeseu, won the following prizes: First “Grand Prix of the A.C,R.R.; and “Prix Populate.” Comments upon the races indicate that exceptionally unfavourable conditions prevailed during the six crossings of the. Carpathian Mountains on broken down roads with torrential rain. The Hupmobile Six, however, withstood the supreme test and was the only car having closed the circuit without any penalty whatsoever, all the other twenty-four competing ears having been penalised. At Hungarian touring competition held on June 6 and 7‘, a standard. Hupmobilo eight-cylinder touring car also won the. first prize, performing the long journey most brilliantly and arriving at the winning post without a single penalty. A large number of high-class cars l wore competing and great difficulties' w<?re encountered during the race, which was run day and night in a furious gale with rain, yet the Hupmobile came through, in the best, of condition. Such performances as quoted above serve to show the stern stuff of which Hupmobile cars are made and should guide the; prospective motor-car owner in the choice of a. car. Endurance tests such, as these cannot fail to bring to light any mechanical or structural defects present in a car, and it goes to show that the producers of the Hupmobile cars are placing before the great purchasing public the most efficient and up-to-date machine yet brought into the market.. All information in connection with these wonderful machines is. obtainable at the Motor Department of the. Farmers’ Co-op. Or-, ganisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., Princes Street, Hawera, local agents and distributors.*
