DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORT

REGULATION OF SHIPMENTS

CONTROL BOARD’S SCHEME

A system for the regulation of, shipments oi New Zealand dairy produce has been evolved by the Dairy Control Board for operation during the coming season. Having taken —by comparison with last year's figures;—the approximate total production, the board has arranged for the shipments to the Home markets to be made regularly, so as to prevent clashing, tlius maintaining a steady price throughout- the year. Details of this proposal have been supplied to the various grading stores for export,-and are as follow: “The board proposes to regulate, shipments- in much the same proportion as it intended to do last season, bub owing to the seamen’s strike last September and October, last season’s monthly shipments are not of great assistance as a guide. Tor present calculations, we are basing our .figures on 2,400.000 boxes of butter and 1,015,1)00 crates of.cheese as being New Zealand’s exportable surplus to the United Kingdom this coming season, and to ship same as follows: Butter Cheese August 15,000 September 80,000 30,000 October ’ 220,000 00.000 November 2 <5,000 130,000 December 250,0C0 110,000 Januarv 255,000 110,000 Februarv 255,000 110,000 March * . 255,000 1.10,000 April "240,000 110,000 \j nv ... .. .. 180,000 80,000 June .. 165,000 80,000 juiv ■" .::: 150,000 65,000 August 150,000 30,000 2,400,000 1,015,000

Taking last year’s basis as being approximately accurate for this year’s export, it was anticipated that Patea would again lead in cheese -handled, 22.72 per cent., New Plymouth being lower on the* List, 2.94 per cent. In butter. Paten’s percentage would .be ' : 1.93, New Plymouth 9.24, and Wanga-j > nui 5.66. ‘ - •>
