CARBON MONOXIDE OAS.

From America, comes the announcement that the Pittsburg experiment station of the Department of Commerce lias devised a recorder and alarm against carbon monoxide gas. While- the alarm is probably directed more particularly toward protecting miners against this insidious gas, there is some reason to hope that it may be adaptable for use in the garage. The motor vehicle to-day is such an inevitable adjunct of every family, that a garage is as much a part of the home as the kitchen. The number of deaths from carbon monoxide gas poisoning, justify a general taking of precautions. The presence of this insidious gas is so difficult, or rather so impossible to determine, that an efficient inexpensive alarm would be a real boon to the motor-car owning community.
