MEAT BOARD.

ANNUAL MEETING OF DELEGATES. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 2G. The annual meeting of delegates constituting the electoral committee of the Now Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, presided over by Mr D. Jones, was held to-day. In his address, the chairman said' .that he knew of no system of electing a body such as themselves better than the existing one. It gave what was an invaluable opportunity of consultation between the representatives of the farmers and of the board, securing the best results in the interests of all.. He referred .to the serious effect of the strike in holding up supplies of meat in New Zealand and Australia, so increasing the prices in'Britain and, seriously affecting consumption. The result was that when New Zealand meat began to arrive I-lomc it met with a considerable quantity of last season’s and large quantities -of Australian arriving later.
