Received 9.55 a.m. to-day. NEW YORK, Aug. 25

Aii unusually heavy log clouded New York and vicinity, seriously hampering traffic in both street and harbour. Liners which wore due early in the morning were delayed on the outskirts of the harbour and were unable to dock for many hours. Smaller vessels were forced to operate with extreme caution. Street traffic was greatly slowed down. Steamers from Boston. Providence and elsewhere were ,so long delayed that many passengers landed miles from the docks and completed, their trip hv taxicab or subwav.—Aus.-N.Z. Oable Assn.
