TUKAPA SWAMP ELTHAM INGLEWOOD’S FIRST WIN STRATFORD AND ATHLETIC DEFAULT L 1 Competition play in each of the Taranaki senior Rugby divisions ended on Saturday, and the respective champions, Tukapa from the North and Okaiawa from the South, will meet at Stratford on Thursday next to decide the provincial premiership. Tukapa romped over Eltham, who l sprang a surprise the previous Saturday by defeating Star, which has finished a point behind the winners in the northern division. Last year’s premiers. Stratford, defaulted their fixture with Star; and the only other northern game gave Inglewood its first victory, secured by a margin of two points at the expense of Old Boys. In the South, also, one match went by default, Opunakc winning from Athletic. The champions, Okaiawa, won comfortably from Kaponga, who finish second; and Hawera easily accounted for a scratch Waimate team. .
