NEGOTIATIONS PENDING
Slaughtermen at the Pa.tea. Freezing Works are 'still unable to resume kill—ipg day-old calves pending the result of negotiations 1 for the settlement of the wages question raised last week by headquarters of the union. It is understood that the union general secretary undertook to have the matter submitted to the Disputes Committee at Wellington -with a view to reaching an aigreement pending, the announcement of an award l by the Arbitration Court, and it is ’hoped that this will result in the resumption of work some time this week. In the meantime no further lots' of calves are being accepted at the works.
