A Boon to Motorists The Prest-Air Power Bottle. A Fe»l Trouble, Time 8 labour Saver PREST-AiR POWER BOTTLE long bSVAND city t+*f. 'A A PRESS TRIBUTE. WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT DOES. [Extract from one of many eulogistic newspaper reports .] A powerful tyre pump —without the labour of pumping; car jack that needs no lever action, but simply rises easily and smoothly—these are the properties of a new invention called the “PrestAir”. Automobile Outfit. What would not any motorist give for any of these labour saving devices. The trouble of pumping a tyre, or lifting a wheel with a jack is now an obsolete method of dealing with tyre troubles. This is the result of the invention of the “Prest-Air ’ bottle —a steel cylinder about fourteen inches long which contains pure liquid carbon-dioxide that vapourizes on the oopening of the valve and rushes out at a pressure of up to 1000 lbs. to the square inch. A practical demonstration was given to a representative of this paper and a number of interested motorists, and the advantages of the appliance were readily appreciated. A special airjack (which is part of the equipment) was placed under a large motor truck. A “prest-air” bottle was attached, and with a slight turn of the wrist a small amount of “prest-air” was allowed into the jack. The result was that the axle was lifted easily and without human effort in a very few seconds.. The jack could remain in that position for any length of time, there being no leakage whatever. It was simply released by opening a valve. The bottle was attached to a deflated tyre, and with the same magic turn it rose and was as firm as ever it had been. Car-bon-dioxide has been proved to be a preservative of rubber, so a motorist is rather lengthening than shortening the life of his tube w'hen he fills them from the “prest-air” bottle. The equipment consists of two “prest-air” cylinders, and a “prestair” jack. A demonstration was also given to the members of the local Rotary Club, and they all expressed their surprise and pleasure at the work of the new invention. —“Star.” PREST-AIR OUTFITS MAY BE BOUGHT AND CYLINDERS REFILLED AT ALL GARAGES. INVALUABLE SERVICE AT MODERATE COST. Prest-Air Devices (N.Z.) Ltd. WANGANUI.
