NORMANBY.
The local dance committee held its last dance of the season on Friday night.. The hall was beautifully decorated and the floor all that a dancer could wish for. Many couples were to be seen! gliding, sliding and enjoying themselves throughout the evening. Messrs Paine and E. Linn carried out the duties of M’s.C. to the satisfaction of all present. The. local fourth grade football team intend holding a dance . here next Thursday night; and it is rumoured that a dance on a large scale is. to be •held shortly by the local Maoris. Once again wo hear the progeny of the cow calling. This music is more distinct this year, because the farmers are bringing their calves to the station for the Patea works.
The suppliers of the local factory are patting themselves on the backs because they are supplying a. factory that heads the list in South Taranaki (if not in Taranaki) for pay-out, which could be Is 10id. Mr C. Preston, of Nofmanby, has sold hiSi three-year-old gelding, fullbrother to Benzora, for .500 guineas. Thisi speaks l well for the progeny of Bisogne.
