HAWERA LADIES’ CLUB

Owing' to the unsettled' weather, the medal round was postponed from last Friday until' the. first: Friday in October. .Juniors are reminded, of the first day of a two-day bogey over 14 boles, commencing on Friday. During the month advantage has been taken of the fine weather; two inter-club matches have been played, and most of the first round of the Rose Bowl matches have been decided. Miss Harriett Burgess has reduced her handicap by one stroke, and first handicaps have been earned by Miss McCormack and Miss Betty Nutting. Oil Friday begins the first round of the championships., and players are notified that the first round of the senior and Die first and second rounds of the junior championships must, be completed by August 30. The following are the draws:— Senior: .Mrs Walkloy v. Airs French; Miss Wilson v. Miss. Richardson; Airs Thomson v.' Aliss Burgess; Mrs Little v. Airs Christie; Airs Dickie v. MoDonell, Blundell v. Hart. The qualifying rounds were played last week. and the .matches in the first round will he played this week. 1 SEAFIELD CUP. A challenge has been received from the Seafield Club (Wanganui), and this match i,s set down for September 4. NOTES OF INTEREST. The Haw era, Men’s Club ,ha.s accepted a, challenge from the Hiawera. Ladies’ Club for a return match. This will be played on Saturday. 14th inst. The conditions are the same as previously —men to concede the ladies one stroke at each hole. Mr E. P.
