“DARING DAYS.”
/ .Tosh; Sedgwick has been given something now in the way of Western pietun' plays in ‘‘Daring Days,” 1 ni-versal-Blue Streak Western, which is to be screened to-night at the Opera House. Miss Sedgwick, as Eve Underhill, tires of city life and hires out as mayor of a small Arizona town. Admirers of Miss Sedgwick should not miss seeing their favourite in this great picture which was directed by John B. O’Brien. Among the players supporting Miss Sedgwick are Edward Hearn, Zama Zamoria, Harry Battenberry, Henry Todd, Ben Corbett, T. C. Jack and Ted Oliver. Supporting this picture will be shown episode two of the serial, “Perils of the. Wild.”
GBAND THEATBE. “THE WAY OF A GIRL.” V
How would you like to be held prisoner by two escaped murderers in a mountain cave? That is the, experience which Eleanor Boardman goes through in her role in “The Way of a Girl,” the Metro'-Goldwvn offering which opened at the Grand Theatre last evening. Although the picture has a dramatic climax, Miss Boardman’s role is largely a light comedy one. In it she portrays a young lady in search of a thrill, who goes to a prize light, slum haunt and gaol to get it. The climax comes when she gets more thrills than she expected.. Matt Moore plays opposite Miss Boardman, with William Bussell. 1

“PRINCESS OF POPPYLAND.”

At the Town ITall, Maipaia, oil Wednesday and Thursday, August 11 and 12. the operetta “The Princess of Poppyland” will be staged by the; company which last year .so successfully produced “Babes in the Wood.” The proceeds go to aid. the funds of St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church. The cast totals nearly 40 performers-, and many extra items will be introduced, including a -number of special dances arrangedl by Mrs Wilson, of Hawera. A very bright and pleasing production is; assured if the performers "acquit themselves as well as was the- ease a- year ago, and we are assured that an evenbetter -performance may he looked for.
