ACTION AGAINST WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, July 22. Reserved judgment was given by Mr Page, S.M., in the case in which Herbert Innes Dawson sought £IOO special and £2O general damages against the Wellintgon City Council, arising from a collision shortly after midnight on January 23 between -a car and a: corporation cart. The magistrate held that the council had been negligent. The cart had only one light, and it was doubtful if that was alight; also that the light was so placed that there was no opportunity of seeing it from the rear. He assessed the- damages at £lO5.
