AUCTIONS. NEWTON KING, LTD. DAIRYMEN! ATTENTION! CHOICE GRADE JERSEYS ON THE I^AEM, MATX SOUTH ROAD, TNATTA. FRIDAY, JULY 9. , At 1 ,p.m. YTEWTON KING LTD. have been favoured! with instructions from Mr WILLIAM DUGGAN to sell bv public, auction as above — WITHOUT RESERVE 00 ITTGJI GRADE JERSEY COWS; due to ealve July and. August; 2nd to stli culvers, and in calf to pedigree Jersey bulls; a very high-class herd NOTE. —The vendor has not sold his farm, nor is he leasing it, but is forced to hold! a sale of this splendid herd of choice grade Jerseys on account. of the fact that the grass grub has ravaged the whole, of his pastures to such an extent that it will be necessary for him to spell the farm in order to have time to recondition the. pastures. The ravages of the grub have been very severe in the Inalia district, and especially so on Mr Duggan’s j farm. The herd is probably one of the best in. Taranaki, and is for absolute dispersal without reserve. Last year the herd comprised 58, 20 being heifers, and produced 17,2731bs butterfat. This year more heifers were added, but, on account of the- grass grub and drought, the returns dropped to 16,0001bs butter-fat. Mr Duggan’s reputation as a good judge of Jersey cattle is well known, and he considers that the present is the best herd he has over owned. The cows are all in calf to pedigree Jersey bulls and are due to calve early in July until the middle of August, most of them being due before the 31st July. Inspection of the cattle before .the sale date is cordially invited and welcomed. The vendor’s pedigree cattle, numbering about 16, will be. disposed! of at the pedigree Jersey sale to be held on July 22. Cars will leave the offices of. .the I-lawera and Kaponga branches of the firm on the morning of the sale. Clients are kindly requested, to book seats. Luncheon Provided.
