COAL MINES’ HOURS BILL. "A: THIRD READING MINISTER INTERRUPTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 1.10 p.m. to-day. LONDON, July 1. In the House of Commons, the final stage of the Coal Mines Hours Bill opened menacingly. A Labour member. Mr Batey, asked the Speaker not to- press the third reading, declaring that if he did no Ministerialist would be allowed to speak. . The Speaker .said his duty was to conduct the business of the House, P.nd he to do so. The lit. Hon. W. C. Bridgeman then moved the third reading. He was repeatedly interrupted by Labour members, who accused him of provocation.. Mr Bridgeman said that hie- was defending the leader of his party when he had been, celled a murderer and a liar. Mr Jack Jones, Labour member for •Silvertown, interrupted. “You: are a murderer. He refused to withdraw) his remark and left the House. As he did so he turned towards: the- Ministbr, shouting: “The whole gang of you are murderers.” Mr Bridgeman was then allowed to proceed with his speech.—Reuter.
